I bought a 34′ Haulmark Edge race trailer and on the drive home from California the rear latch failed. The latch had been fastened with sheet‑metal screws, which sheared out — an obvious poor choice for a critical load-bearing component. Fortunately no one was hurt but cargo security and road safety were compromised.
Customer service was disappointing. I received minimal response from Marc Gordon at Phil’s Trailers and similarly minimal response from Amanda Greer at Haulmark Trailers. Both acknowledged the issue but provided no timely resolution, repair plan, or clear next steps. For a high-dollar trailer built for hauling valuable equipment, that level of support is unacceptable.
